Common power supply methods for isolators are independent power supply, loop power supply and output loop power supply.
Independently powered isolators:
It needs to be equipped with independent 20~35VDC DC power supply. The advantage of this method is high isolation transmission accuracy; The power supply, input and output are completely isolated, and the power supply of the multi-channel system does not need to be isolated, which can ensure high anti-interference performance, and the input signal can be converted to other types of models.
Loop-powered isolators:
In the actual industrial monitoring system, DCS, PLC or other display instruments with card internal power supply are more and more widely used. Loop-powered isolators often fail to meet the conditions of these cards requiring high signal isolation transmission accuracy and high distribution voltage requirements for two-wire transmitters. Therefore, the output loop-powered isolators retain the superior performance of the stand-alone powered isolators while meeting the requirements of the output loop-powered interface.
