The main purpose of this series of products is to provide information connections between endpoints that use different communication protocols and/or signaling methods. For example, these devices can connect I2C bus to UART, connect USB to other devices such as I2C, SPI, Ethernet or UART, or connect Ethernet MAC and PHY. In addition, there are devices designed to establish multiple connections through point-to-point communication interfaces, such as USB hub controllers.
