The performance description of a reed relay is to directly control one or more multiple flexible ferromagnetic metal reed switches bypassing the mechanical armature. Reed relays have a smaller coil current and shorter action and release times. The dual coils of some reed relays have a latching function. Contact profiles include DPDT, DPST, SPDT, and SPST.
