Surge Protection Devices (SPDs) protect circuits from damage caused by high peak voltages of electromagnetic wave surges. They provide instantaneous protection from surge voltages. When the resistance value of the SPD drops below a predetermined voltage, its response frequency decreases and returns to normal operation.
