Product Introduction
Thyristor-based Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) devices are used for overvoltage protection since the device is essentially an open circuit under normal operating conditions. When a voltage is applied across the device exceeding a specific value (known as the breakdown voltage), it enters a state close to a short circuit. This state persists until the current passing through the device drops below a minimum value due to external influences in the circuit, known as the holding current.
